KKIN Radio has served the area since 1961. We are proud of all 3 of our formats. You will find Classic Hit Country music on 94.3 FM, and the Adult Standards on 930 AM Stereo. Our third station is KQ 101.5 FM, where you will find Classic Rock Hits, serving all of the Brainerd Lakes Area.

We reach people of all ages, and cover all of Aitkin County, North to Pine River, North East to Grand Rapids, South to Onamia, and we also cover the entire Brainerd Lakes area.

We are located in Aitkin, Minnesota, 120 miles north of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and 90 miles west of Duluth. We are part of the Red Rock Radio Group.

We have up to the minute weather with Weather Eye Weather Service, local and Associated Press(AP) Network News, and sports coverage. We are known as the information station for the area.

Our goal is to provide our listeners with not only music, but with all pertinent information in regards to what is happening throughout our local communities.

Throughout the year, KKIN/KQ 101.5 Radio promotes a huge variety of local events in our nearby communities. On KKIN, our Up-North Adventure reports are heard during summer months. Our stations always keep our listeners informed as to what's happening in the area.

Community Involvement

When it comes to community involvement, we're second to none. A lot of time is spent each year involving ourselves in the community, we are also members of local Chambers of Commerce, and work closely with them to help promote the area. Also, our community calendar, which runs several times on all three stations informs our listeners as to what is happening at local churches, township halls, and a variety of community events, vital statistics and want ads.
